City of WB Settles with Limkemann for $25,000 and Public Apology

The West Burlington City Council agreed last(Wed) night to an out-of-court settlement with former fireman Skylar Limkemann, who sued the City when Councilmen Rod Crowner and Rick Raleigh publicly questioned some of the information he had included in a federal grant application for the Fire Department.

Mayor Hans Trousil says the settlement won’t be final until it’s been signed by all parties.   On other fronts, the city will post a camera at the yard waste dropoff site, because someone left about 20 tires there…and this year’s dog-swim at the West Burlington pool is set for the 23rd, from 11 – 2.
West Burlington Fire Chief Mike Heim gave the City Council a brief-but-cautionary report last(Weds) night on the state of the fire hydrants on some of the larger properties in town. The college…for example…had two out of seven that didn’t work. And of GE’s eight hydrants, five were inoperable.  They’ve since been fixed.
