Pagan Pride Day in Burlington Saturday

A religious group that many people consider controversial is getting together at Burlington’s Crapo Park this weekend, and is inviting the public to come learn what they truly believe and how they worship.

Pagan Pride Day will feature rituals, workshops, food, music and more this Saturday from 10am-4pm. Organizer of the event, Jane Edwards, says she’s aware of the negative connotations associated with Pagan Pride…

“When I say I’m Pagan, many people react by saying you’re going to hell. I say, well first, I’d have to believe in the place and I don’t. We believe in sending out the most positive things into the universe and into our world that we live in, and try to make it better.”

People have accused Pagans of worshiping the devil and eating babies. Edwards says it’s not true…

“Well, I don’t think we ever did. I think somebody made that up to make us look bad.”

There is no cost to attend the event this Saturday but they do ask that you bring a non-perishable food item for the homeless shelter.
