Bees Remember Local Sports Writer Susan Denk Before Playing Kernels

The Burlington Bees recognized Susan Denk last night with a moment of silence before the game.

The long-time Hawk Eye sports writer covered the local minor league team for 15 years, before dying suddenly Monday of an apparent heart attack. She was just 39.

The Bees lost the game 6-5 to the Cedar Rapids Kernels, Burlington’s 4th defeat in a row.   The two teams will play again tonight at Community Field and you can hear the action on KBUR, starting with the pre-game show at 6:10.
