Bees Beaten by Cougars; BHS Volleyball Opens with Wins

The Burlington Bees lost again to the Kane County Cougars last night at Community Field.

The score was 6-1, as 10 Bees went down swinging and Burlington’s catcher committed a crucial error.   Tonight, the Bees play the Timber Rattlers in Appleton, Wisconsin and you can hear the game on KBUR, beginning with the pre-game show at 6:45.   (Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the Bees will close out their regular season with a 3-game series against the Quad Cities River Bandits.)

 

In girls high school volleyball yesterday…

BHS beat Davenport North, 25-17, 25-16 and 27-25 to open the season.

Illini West defeated Camp Point Central 25-13 and 25-20

 

In girls swimming…

BHS lost a double-dual meet to Rock Island 105-53 and Davenport West 98-60. The Rocks edged West 82-80.

 

In boys golf…

West Hancock’s varsity beat the BHS Jayvees 204-211.

United defeated West Central 207-208, even though the Heat’s Jacob Wetzel and Brent Nichols tied for the top individual score – 42.   United’s Chase Carnes shot a 44.
