Bees, Kernels Begin 2nd Season

The Burlington Bees kick off their post-season tonight, as they face the Cedar Rapids Kernels on the road.

Game time is 6:35.   Tomorrow night, the best-of-3 Western Division playoff series returns to Community Field and Friday’s game…if needed…will also be played in Burlington.

 

In high school volleyball…

Holy Trinity beat WB and Maharishi in three games each, while WB defeated Maharishi, also in three games.

(#6-5A) Pleasant Valley over BHS 25-16, 25-18 and 25-22

Wapello lost to Wilton in the title match, finishing second at the Arrows Tournament.   Columbus finished 1-2 and Central Lee 0-3.

Beardstown beat West Hancock in two games

 

 

In girls swimming…

BHS swept a dual meet at home, beating Davenport North on the varsity level 97-74 and in the jayvee competition 22-4.

 

 

In cross country…

The Mt. Pleasant boys won the team title at the Williamsburg Invitational, while the Panther girls placed 5th.

At the Iowa Mennonite Invite, Muscatine won the boys and girls competitions, while Mediapolis, Winfield-Mt. Union and Wapello placed 5th, 6th and 7th, respectively, in the boys meet…and the Mediapolis girls came in 4th, while the Wapello girls ran to a 6th place finish.
