Investigation Complete: Local Woman Busted on Drug Charges

It’s taken nearly five months to build the case, but Southeast Iowa’s Narcotics Task Force yesterday(Thur) arrested a Burlington woman at her home on drug charges.

43-year old Heather Boyd of 128 Golf Lane…behind Sunnyside Elementary School…faces counts of Possessing a Controlled Substance with intent to Deliver, within 1,000 feet of a School…and Maintaining a Drug House. Last April, task force agents executed a search warrant and reported finding suspected bath salts…K2…hallucinogenic mushrooms, meth, marijuana, pills…drug paraphernalia and cash in the Boyd home. The items were sent to the state crime lab for analysis.

Boyd was taken yesterday to the county jail and a judge set her bond at $55,000 cash or surety. Assisting in the investigation were Burlington and West Burlington Police and the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Department.
