Alex Bautista led Muscatine to the boys title, while Ben Sterler was Burlington’s top runner at 13th place and ND-WB’S Baron West came in 15th. Muscatine also won the girls meet, led by Brina Kraft. The top local finishers were Illini West’s Carly Garnett in second place and Savannah Banwart of Mediapolis in 6th.
And there’ll be a celebration of life for former Hawk Eye sports writer Susan Denk this Sunday at 2 o’clock at Community Field in Burlington. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share. Table service and drinks will be provided.
