Some good financial news for the City of Burlington — the State of Iowa’s Municipal Fire & Police Retirement System has lowered the employer contribution rate for 2015.
City Manager Jim Ferneau put that in perspective, saying the new rate will be 27.7%…down from 30.41%, and that should save Burlington about $20,000 a year.
