Get ready for another election — there’ll be a primary…in Burlington…on December 2nd.
Des Moines County Auditor Carol Copeland says those running…so far…for Becky Shockley’s old city council seat are former Councilman and Mayor Jim Davidson…Tracey Watts…and Dan Wischmeier. Would-be candidates have until the end of business November 7th to file their nominating petitions with the Auditor’s office.
The special election…once the field has been narrowed to two…is December 30th, and Copeland says between the primary and special elections, they should cost the taxpayers about $10,000.
