The Burlington City Council voted 3-1 last(Mon) night to make curfew time for kids and young teens a little earlier.
There hadn’t been much feedback on the issue for the past few months…as the change made its way through the public hearing process…but last(Mon) night frequent city spending critic Leon Shahan objected to the proposal, saying the new hours are akin to putting kids under “house arrest.”
Mayor Shane McCampbell cast the only “no” vote, agreeing that a 9 pm curfew on school nights was just too early.
