An 84-year old Gladstone man was killed last(Mon) night when his car was hit by a semi on Illinois-94 in Henderson County.
State police say Lawrence Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver…54-year old Phillip Butler of Stronghurst…was taken by ambulance to Great River Medical Center with minor injuries.
Troopers say it was shortly after 7:15 and Anderson’s northbound Buick had stopped in the southbound lane at County Road 13-50-North. Butler says he tried to avoid the car by swerving into the northbound lane…but at the same time, Anderson swerved back into that same lane…and the Peterbilt Tractor struck the car in the driver’s door, pushing it about 75 feet.
