Mt. Pleasant’s Logan Murray placed 3rd at the boys state meet in Class 3A
L-M’s Lucas Nowak came in 32nd and ND-WB’s Baron West finished 40th in 2A
Winfield-Mt. Union’s Gavin Bencze placed 22nd and Johnathan Quinn was 50th in 1A, while Josh Keller came in 49th.
Also in 1A, Wapello placed 14th as a team
For the girls…
Ft. Madison’s Sarah Steffensmeier came in 48th in the 3A state meet and Mt. Pleasant’s Ellie Conrad placed 87th.
In 2A, Savannah Banwart of Mediapolis finished 15th, teammate Emma Gordon placed 33rd and Haley Thie was 53rd. The Bullettes placed 8th as a team, their best ever.
In 1A, Griswold’s Rebekah Topham became the first girl to win four state titles. Locally, Holy Trinity’s Brett(girl) Schneider placed 35th and Allison Sporkman came in 45th.
On the Illinois side, Illini West’s Mariah Brody placed 11th at the 1A sectional, to earn a berth at state. Illini West was 11th as a team. Aletha Mulch came in 47th for West Hancock and for the boys, Dalton Ellingboe placed 66th at sectional.
