Evans Will be Laid to Rest Monday

MOLINE, Ill. (AP) — The funeral for former longtime U.S. Rep. Lane Evans will be Monday in Moline.

Evans died Wednesday at age 63 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary in Moline both Saturday and Sunday. Evans’ funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Moline.

Evans represented Illinois’ 17th congressional district for more than two decades, from 1983 to 2006.
