Crusaders, Tigers Tested Today

Top-rated Holy Trinity and 5th-ranked New London will both be in action later today(Weds) at the Iowa girls Class 1A state volleyball tournament in Cedar Rapids.

The 45-4 Crusaders take on a well-known opponent…23-14 LeMars Gehlen…at 4 o’clock on Court One of the U-S Cellular Center. This will be the 3rd time in the last five years that Holy Trinity and the 8th-rated Jays play each other at the state tournament.

At 6 o’clock this(Weds) evening, the number-5 New London Tigers…at 35-7…will battle 4th-rated Tripoli…who enter the game with a record of 26-13.   The Panthers have been to the state tournament 16 times in the last 17 years and have won 11 championships during that time.   The Tigers are back at state for the first time since 2009. Their matchup too will be on Court-1.

 

Speaking of girls volleyball, BHS’s Bailey Darnall has signed a letter-of-intent to play for Indian Hills Community College.
