Officially, they’re not calling him “The Mediapolis Marauder,” but informed sources say the man they arrested early yesterday(Weds) morning for a car burglary is the same man who committed dozens of Mediapolis area break-ins and thefts earlier this year.
27-year old Josh Melton was nearly caught in the act shortly after 2 am…and when Des Moines County deputies apprehended him a short time later and executed a search warrant at 324 Cedar Street…they found burglary tools and property that had been stolen in a February car break-in at 410 Park Street. Melton was charged with Possession of Burglary Tools and 3rd Degree Burglary. He was taken to the county jail and has already posted bond.
Sheriff Mike Johnstone says the investigation continues and has already involved hundreds of man-hours, including a lot of overtime.
