State, Des Moines County and Burlington agencies are investigating what’s being called the suspicious death of a 22-day-old baby at his parents’ mobile home north of Burlington.
Emergency crews were sent to the Green Acres Mobile Home Court along Des Moines County Highway 99 around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Sheriff Mike Johnstone says the boy’s father had called 911.
Johnstone says the child’s death at his home “does look suspicious.” He declined to name the baby’s parents.
Officials say an autopsy has been done, but results may not be available for several months.
