Burlington Woman, Galesburg and Pittsfield Men Killed in Separate Crashes

A Burlington woman and a man from Galesburg were both killed last(Mon) night, when their cars collided on Highway 34, just west of Illinois-164.

The victims have been identified as 50-year old Cynthia Stambaugh and 46-year old Christopher Brooks. Illinois State Police say it was just before 9 o’clock when Brooks’ eastbound Jeep Cherokee crossed the centerline and hit Stambaugh’s Kia Optima in the driver’s side front corner.

Also last(Mon) night…about two hours earlier…a young Pittsfield man was killed when his southbound Chevy pickup crossed into the wrong lane on U-S 67 near Macomb and collided head-on with a northbound semi. 20-year old Ty Rylander died in the collision, but the trucker…a 46-year old man…was not hurt.
