Consultants’ Flood Mitigation Presentation to City Council Today

The Burlington City Council is expecting a final recommendation later today(Mon) from two consultants it hired to come up with flood mitigation plans for the downtown riverfront.

They include flood walls…both removable and permanent…less concrete and asphalt…more green space…and possibly even a splash-pad…and a riverfront hotel, where the former post office is.

All of these proposals are leading up to an application for a grant the City will be seeking from the state, to help pay for the improvements. This afternoon’s meeting is at 4:30 and the public is invited.
