The man suspected of being the one they called “The Mediapolis Marauder,” is back in custody.
27-year old Josh Melton skipped bail on the 14th, but authorities say his dad called the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Department and arranged to have his son turn himself in this past Sunday night, which he did.
Local judge Michael Dieterich upped Melton’s bond to $50,000-cash only and he’s now scheduled to return to court with a public defender December 4th (2 pm).
To date, he’s only been charged with one burglary…committed last February…and Possession of Burglary Tools, but deputies continue their investigation into his activities earlier this year, when dozens of break-ins and thefts were committed in the Mediapolis area.
