Info. Meeting Today on Proposed Oil Pipeline

A Texas-based energy company hoping to build an 11-hundred mile long underground oil pipeline from North Dakota to Illinois through southeast Iowa will hold a public information meeting today(Mon) in Ft. Madison.

Representatives of Dakota Access, LLC will be there to explain the proposed route and answer questions…and someone from the Iowa Utilities Board will attend the meeting as well, to distribute and review a statement of the legal rights of landowners.

The meeting’s at 1 o’clock this(Mon) afternoon at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Ft. Madison.

The pipeline would run from the Bakken oilfields of North Dakota to Patoka, Illinois. In southeast Iowa, it would go through the counties of Mahaska, Keokuk, Wapello, Jefferson, Van Buren and Lee.
