City Council Gives Airport Clear Runway for Rezoning

None of the complaining neighbors showed up at last(Mon) night’s public hearing…and the Burlington City Council voted unanimously to approve the Airport’s request to rezone 10 acres of land at 21-31 Summer Street…so Floyd’s EZ Way Container Service can keep operating legally.

A number of area residents had said the business is open 24-7, is noisy and could be polluting the local environment, but Airport Manager Mary Beaird says most of the accusations are just not true.

No one has been able to answer the question as to why Floyd’s…or its business predecessors…were all able to operate in an area zoned “residential.”
