BPD Continues Robbery Probes

Burlington police continue their investigation into a pair of robberies in last Thursday night…one around 10:30 and reported just after it happened…and the other committed early last(Thur) night, but not reported until Friday morning.

In the first of the incidents, a Burlington woman told police she was riding her bicycle in the 200 block of South Marshall…when someone hit her in the back of the head and knocked her out. The robber made off with her bike…her purse…and her phone. Since she was attacked from behind, she wasn’t able to give the authorities any description of the person who did it. She refused medical attention.

In the second incident, two males with bandanas over their faces…one of them with a gun…robbed an A2Z Cabbie in the 1000 block of South Starr Street late Thursday night. The driver…a man…was not hurt, but the pair took a small amount of cash and ran off. Burlington Police Sergeant Chad Zahn says the only description they have of the robbers is that they’re African-American…and the bandanas they wore are blue.
