Burlington Council Picks Up Budget Scissors Tonight; Public Welcome

The Burlington City Council begins focusing on next year’s budget this evening (Thur).

At 5 o’clock, several of the department heads will start making requests in the form of presentations…and Councilman Jim Davidson, who returns after an absence of about a year…feels this round of budget discussions should be easier, because the Council is no longer talking about $2-million in cuts.

Councilman Tim Scott told us yesterday(Wed) that he has a concern about the current pattern of cutting, cutting and more cutting.

Again, today’s(Wed) budget work session starts at 5 and the public is welcome.
