Danville Station Coalition Buys Former Lumber Company Building

Plans have changed…dramatically…for those involved in the Danville Station project. As you may have heard, a committee has been steadily raising money for the past three years, saving for the day when its members and other volunteers could start building a new library…museum…and a place to put Anne Frank’s pen-pal letters to southeast Iowa. But the project has taken a different direction — the group has been offered…and has purchased…the old Danville Lumber Co. building.

Library Board Chair Nancy Martin says just about everything seems to be falling into place and right now, they’re about $60,000 short of an ambitious goal for a town the size of Danville…..

If a “CAT” grant they’ve applied for is approved…the money would come from the State…the Vision Iowa program…and could be as much as $100,000.

If you’d like to get involved, you don’t have to live in Danville — call Bob & Janet Hesler at 319-392-4577…you can go on-line to DanvilleStation.net…or mail any donations to Danville Station, P.O.
