Former Fire Chief, Mayor, Scoutmaster, Library Volunteer, United Way Board Member, BSD Volunteer and Play Producer Earns GBP Local Emmy Award

Just about everyone, it seems, knows Bill Ell.

That includes the members of the Greater Burlington Partnership, who last(Fri.) night named him the winner of the 2014 local Emmy Award, presented to those “who have by some deed, action or continued years of community service, helped the community and is not normally recognized for his or her actions.”

Also recognized at last night’s GBP annual dinner were:  Dana Johnston, who won the Chairman’s award…the Winegard Company, Best Renovation to a Facility…Business Person of the Year, Doreen Roy…the Young Professional of the Year, Kim Korschgen…the “Wild Live with Jack Hanna” show, produced by the Greater Burlington Leadership Class, was named Project of the Year…and the Community Impact of the Year award went to the Maple Leaf Center and its owner, Harmony Bible Church.

Outgoing Board of Directors Chairman Jeff Burkhart was given a plaque of appreciation and 2015 Board Chair Laura Hubbard began her term by encouraging the audience to make a difference and give back to Greater Burlington.   Adam Thielen emceed the event.
