It’s a Night for City Council, School Board Work Sessions

The Burlington City Council meets tonight(Mon) at 5:30 in regular session and will deal with a few minor matters.

Afterwards, members will slide into a special work session to talk some more about the budget and how the Hotel-Motel and Local Option Sales Tax affect it. All signs point to a $120,000 reduction in the Convention & Visitors Bureau spending plan…but Jason Hutcheson of the Greater Burlington Partnership, which oversees the CVB, says it’s a reality they’ll have to live with. He did urge those who feel the cut is too deep to voice their opinions to the Council.

The Burlington School Board holds its own work session tonight(Mon) at 6:30 and will discuss curriculum and instruction.

The West Burlington School Board will hold a 7 o’clock work session tonight(Mon) and one of the discussion items is a Board policy on class size.
