The Burlington City Council found $75,000 last(Mon) night, the funds they need to hire another police officer.
The money to pay for the additional officer will come from the sidewalk fund, which is being eliminated, saving $30,000 a year…the demolition fund, cut $10,000 a year…the auditorium fund, which will take a $25,000 hit…information technology, a $5,000 reduction…and part-time transit hours, another $5,000 cut.
The changes haven’t been voted on yet, as last(Mon) night’s decision was reached by consensus.
