Obituaries Monday February 16th

Debra Jane Keck, 60, of Danville, died at her home Thursday, February 12, 2015.

There will be no formal services for Mrs. Keck.  According to her wishes, she has been cremated and inurnment will be held at a later date.  There will be a visitation  today at Elliott Chapel, New London from noon to 5:00 PM, with the family present from 3:00 to 5:00.  Memorials have been established to the Great River Hospice and the American Cancer Society.

 

Hilda Bird Gudgell, 75, of Burlington, Iowa, died at Oak Lane Nursing Home, Stronghurst, Illinois on Friday, February 13, 2015.

 

Born on October 8, 1939 in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Fred and Alice M. Porter Judd Sr. She married Lester A. Gudgell on June 1, 2001 in Burlington, Iowa. He died August 26, 2006.

 

Hilda was a CNA in Eagle Grove, Iowa, for many years. She enjoyed reading the Bible and being outdoors, especially fishing anywhere she could find water. Her family loved her mouth watering homemade cinnamon rolls and bread. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

 

She is survived by three daughters, April (Everett) Bjorklund of Key Largo, Florida, Rachel (Donald) Belmer of Norfolk, Nebraska and Donna Ford; two sons, William Avery of Brighton, Iowa and Floyd Ford of Norfolk, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; three sisters, June Judd of New London, Iowa, Charlette Clark, of Burlington and May Judd of Idaho; one brother, John Judd of Galesburg, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five sisters and two brothers.
