Fort Madison Man Arrested After Allegedly Attacking Parole Officer

A Fort Madison man is being held in the Lee County Jail after allegedly attacking his parole officer during a routine parole check.

Bond was set at $18,000 in Lee County Court today for 29 year old Jeffrey Allen Moore of Avenue F in Fort Madison. He’s being held on charges of assaulting a person engaged in certain occupations, interference with official acts causing injury, violation of probation and on a December warrant for violation of a no-contact request.

Fort Madison Police say that a parole officer was sent to contact Moore for a routine check when Moore assaulted the officer. When Fort Madison Police arrived on scene, Moore allegedly resisted arrest, leading to the interference charge.

Moore has an extensive criminal record, and served several years in jail on assault, robbery and weapons charges.
