The Mount Pleasant and New London Fire Departments battled a structure fire on 272nd street south of Mount Pleasant Saturday afternoon, according to the Mount Pleasant Fire Department.
A private residence was seriously damaged in the fire. There were no injuries and no one was inside at the time of the fire.
The extent of the damage has yet to be tabulated. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Mount Pleasant Fire Department has not yet released the name of the owner.
The fire call came in at around 10:30 Saturday Morning. Firefighters finally left the scene around 2:30 in the afternoon.
