Obituaries Tuesday February 24th

Floreine Cornelia Klenk, 98, of New London, died at 5:55 PM Monday, February 23, 2015, at the New London Nursing and Rehab in New London.

Born July 26, 1916, in Holdrege, NE, she was the daughter of Adelbert Andrew and Rosa Almedia Borg Cover. On July 16, 1937, she married Russell Ray Klenk in Burlington. He died November 16, 2000.

Floreine had worked at J.C. Penney Co. for 17 years.

She graduated from Huron High School.

As a young married couple Floreine and Russell searched out the Gospel and made their choice to serve God. They spent time in Florida and Texas, made trips to Mexico and toured Alaska. They enjoyed Gospel Meetings and Conventions everywhere they went. Floreine was an expert seamstress, she also loved to go fishing, she had a talent for music, but her determination and stability is what many will remember. Grandma loved her children and grandchildren and her friends; often playing games with them-they will NEVER forget that experience.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Ray (Judy) Klenk of Oakville, and Richard Lee (Jean) Klenk of Burlington; one daughter, Janice Rose (Bill) Brown of New London; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Klenk of Mediapolis; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
