The Danville Boys Basketball team continued their hot streak through the first game of the Class 1A Championship tournament last night as the undefeated Bears took down West Hancock 69-47. With the win, they take on Maple Valley during the semifinals on Thursday.
Two Southeast Iowa Girls Basketball players were named to the All-State Team yesterday. Notre Dame Guard Taylor Hickey was selected for Class 1A, and Mediapolis Forward Andrea Larson to the Class 3A team.
In the NBA the still-Derrick-Rose-less Bulls fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 101-91 last night. Rose told reporters yesterday that he didn’t have a timetable to return to the team following his third knee surgery in three years, but hoped he would be able to get back on the court by the end of the season.
In the NHL, the St. Louis Blues take on Winnipeg at home.
