Obituaries Tuesday March 17th

Bill Wellman, 63, of Burlington, died at 2:59 AM Monday, March 16, 2015, at his home.

 

Born May 3, 1951, in Fort Madison, IA, he was the son of Andrew Bernard and Helen Sarah Bradford Wellman. On February 16, 1974, he married Enid VanCleave in Fort Madison, IA.

 

Bill previously worked for Carquest Auto Parts and had been working for Shopko delivering prescriptions.

 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, drag racing, target shooting, his puppies, and especially spending time with his family.

 

Survivors include his wife, Enid; one son, William J. “Joe” (Tammie Miller) Wellman of Burlington; one daughter, Barbara Ann Wellman of Marion, IA; three brothers, Michael (Karen) Wellman of Fort Madison, IA, LeRoy (LeAnn) Wellman of West Point, IA, and Martin (Deanna) Wellman of Wever, IA; four granddaughters, Ashlyn  Hazzie, Morgan, and Angel.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Anthony Wellman.

 

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory.

 

There will be no visitation or services.

 

A memorial has been established.

 

Thielen Funeral Home & Crematory is in care of the arrangements.

 

Clyde LeRoy Graham, 74, of Burlington, died at 5:30 AM Monday, March 16, 2015, at his home.

 

Born August 10, 1940, in Burlington, he was the son of Clyde and Cealia Margaret Sink Graham.  On February 13, 1971, he married Lynda Turkington in Long Beach, CA.

 

Clyde was the owner/operator of a salvage yard in Burlington yard for 35 years.

 

He enjoyed working on vehicles, Harley Davidson’s, fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, and visiting with folks.  He always cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.

 

Survivors include his wife, Lynda; two daughters, Christy (Christopher) Graham-Beggs of Burlington, and Stacy Graham of Papillon, NE; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Steve (Shirley) Graham of Dubuque, IA.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Perry Graham, one daughter, Melody Graham, one granddaughter, and one great-grandson.

 

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory.

 

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Thielen Funeral Home.

 

A  private Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Graham will be held at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Dean Moberg officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Great River Hospice.
