Arrests Made in Connection to February Gulfport Fire

Investigation into an early February housefire in Gulfport has led to the arrest of two Gulfport residents on Methamphetamine charges.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Department Officials say that Burlington Police arrested 56 year old Joni K. Mickey and 73 year old Delbert L. Moeller on Henderson County Warrants. Those warrants were issued after a fire at the couple’s home in Gulfport–the ensuing investigation revealed meth manufacturing materials in the home started the fire.

Both are charged with Unlawful Disposal of Meth Manufacturing Waste Unlawful Possession of Meth Manufacturing Materials, Aggravated Battery, and Unlawful Participation in Meth Conspiracy.

The Aggravated Battery Charges stem from from when deputies attempted to speak with the duo the morning of the fire. Mickey and Moeller attempted to flee from deputies, striking two of them with their car.

Moeller is in the Henderson County Jail, awaiting arraignment. Mickey is in the Moines County Jail, fighting extradition to Illinois.
