Gregory Ralph McKinnon, 65, of Colfax, WI. and formerly New London, died suddenly, Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Wisconsin.  Services are pending at Elliott Chapel, New London.

  1. K. Blaine Jones, 56, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 8:08 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Blaine was born on December 28, 1958 in LaHarpe the son of Bobby D. and Pauline Breiner Jones. On December 28, 1992 he married Kathy Sue Hoskins in LaHarpe.

Blaine spent most of his life in the LaHarpe area where he attended school. Blaine had worked as a farmer. He enjoyed collecting antiques and especially enjoyed collecting older vehicles.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy, one daughter, Shelby Jones of LaHarpe, his mother, Pauline and two brothers, Jerry (Linda) Jones of LaHarpe and Lynn (Jeanie) Jones of LaHarpe.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the LaHarpe Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at the Annex with a light meal. Marjorie Kimble, age 87, of Morning Sun, died Saturday afternoon, March 21, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.  The daughter of Samuel and Reil Hannah Walker, she was born on September 18, 1927 in Morning Sun.  She married Trevor ‘Trev’ M. Kimble, Sr. on May 11, 1946 in Corpus Christi, Texas.  He preceded her in death on May 8, 1996.

 

Marge attended Wapello schools.  She had worked at various locations and notably at the Morning Sun Manor and as a reporter for the Morning Sun News Herald.  She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the Garden Club both of Morning Sun.  Marge enjoyed genealogy, gardening, cooking, reading, and just visiting with friends.

 

Her family includes a daughter, Becky & Pat Murphy of Marion; a son, Trevor, Jr. & Bonnie Kimble of Morning Sun; five grandchildren, Gerald Kimble, Sherrie Dotson, Kathy Kimble, Karen Jennings, and Brian Murphy; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother, Bob & Ethel Walker of Texas; and a sister, Viola Van Houten of Texas.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Trevor, Sr.; a son, Gerald; and thirteen siblings.

 

The funeral ceremony for Marjorie Kimble will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Morning Sun with Rev. Jon Evans officiating.  Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun followed by a fellowship lunch at the church.

 

Friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun where the family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

 

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the First United Presbyterian Church, the Morning Sun Community Ambulance Service, and the Mellinger Public Library.
