A New London home was completely destroyed by fire Monday night.
New London Fire Chief Brad Helmerson says that the house owned by Mike and April Raines was fully engulfed by flames upon firefighters arrival at 2:30 am and eventually collapsed.
Helmerson says that the Raines and their three children were woken up by the fire and got out of the house safely. A cat may have died.
The family was using a barbeque grill the night prior. Leftover embers from that grill are being blamed for starting the fire.
