A Fort Madison man is in jail after a 14 year old boy was shot during a domestic disturbance on Sunday.
Just after midnight, officers responded to 1931 Avenue I in Fort Madison in response to a report of a domestic disturbance which resulted in a shot being fired. Police stopped and arrested 38 year old Donny Junior West while West was allegedly attempting to flee the scene.
West is charged with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Going Armed with intent, Willful Injury, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault, along with two arrest warrants from Des Moines County.
The 14 year old was taken to Fort Madison Community Hospital. his injuries are non-life threatening.
