The Burlington Police Department say that two people were assaulted after being dragged out of their car during a bold daylight attack at a busy intersection that Police are describing as a “road rage” incident.

Ashley Rogers and a Juvenile passenger in her vehicle were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Agency and Roosevelt just before 6pm. Police say that two brothers, Demetrius and Andre Kendrick of Burlington, exited a grey SUV behind the Rogers car, approached Rogers, and began pulling Rogers and her passenger from their vehicle.

Once out of the vehicle, the Kendrick brothers allegedly assaulted Rogers and the juvenile. At some point, the juvenile pulled a knife and slashed Demetrius on the arm, causing Andre to intervene. Andre too was slashed by the juvenile. Both brothers then apparently fled the scene, running back to the grey SUV.

That SUV was stopped by officers at Market and Roosevelt. The Kendrick’s told police that they attacked Rogers and the Juvenile because they allegedly backed into their car at the intersection.

Rogers, as well as a number of eyewitnesses, claim that the grey SUV was struck only while Rogers and the juvenile were already under attack, as Rogers attempted to drive away and escape.

Andre and Demetrius Kendrick are both charged with serious assault. Demetrius is charged with providing false ID to law enforcement after apparently lying about his name and birthdate to police.
