Bipartisanship: Republicans, Democrats Join Organizations to Promote Iowa Caucuses

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Several organizations and the two main political parties have joined to promote events related to the Iowa caucuses.

The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, The Des Moines Register, Greater Des Moines Partnership, Iowa Economic Development Authority and Drake University have created the Iowa Caucus Consortium in partnership with the Iowa Republican and Democratic parties.

To promote its efforts, the Register reports the consortium has created a website, IowaCaucus.org.

The Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates the last two-party caucuses in 2008 brought $25 million in visitor spending to the Des Moines metro area.
