Astrid Holoubek, 99, of West Burlington, died at 2:04 AM Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born July 30, 1915, in Los Angeles, CA, she was the daughter of Rolf and Amanda Avall Berentsen. On May 29, 1939, she married Hilbert A. Holoubek in St. Peters Episcopal Church in San Pedro, CA. He died February 8, 2008.
Survivors include one son-in-law, Bruce Casady of Burlington; one grandson, Scott (Diane) Casady of West Des Moines, IA; one granddaughter, Karen (David) Chicken of Waukee, IA; one great-grandson, Jonathan Chicken of Waukee, IA; two great-granddaughters, Sarah Chicken of Waukee, IA, and Finley Casady of West Des Moines, IA; and several nieces & nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Casady, and two sisters, Henrietta Casey and Alfhild Caughlin.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory.
Services will be announced at a later date.
A memorial has been established for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Christ Episcopal Church in Burlington.
