Obituaries Monday April 27th

Mrs. Henrietta Palmer, 94, of Stronghurst, IL passed away Saturday April 25, 2015 at her home. She was born February 4, 1921 near Downing, MO the daughter of Orville and Julia Crowder Jackson. On February 3, 1946 she married Carson “Ed” Palmer at the Christian Church in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on September 8, 1997.

 

Prior to her marriage Mrs. Palmer worked as a secretary in Lancaster, MO and at Keokuk Electro-Metals in Keokuk, IA. She was a member of the Lomax Christian Church and she also attended the Stronghurst Christian Church. She was also a member of the Henderson County Home Extension, and the Community Senior Citizens in Stronghurst. She was an avid reader and enjoyed stitching, and gardening. She loved her family and enjoyed being with all of them, especially her great-grandchildren.

 

Survivors include three daughters, Susan (Lyman) Schar of Monmouth, IL, Sandra (Brad) Harlacher of West Burlington, IA, Sally (Monty) Waddell of Stronghurst, six grandchildren, Ben Schar, Megan Grandone, Wesley and Jared Harlacher, Kerri Hart, and Kim Waddell, ten great-grandchildren, Carson, Jackson and Max Schar, Jacob, Emily and Sophia Grandone, Annie and Claire Hart, and Ruby and Neva Harlacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and four brothers.

 

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, IL with Steve Minkler and Raymond McLaren officiating. Burial will be in the Stronghurst Cemetery, Stronghurst, IL. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Community Senior Citizens of Stronghurst and the Henderson County Library.
