Marcella “Sally” M. Duffield, 91, West Burlington died Thursday 4/30 at Blair House Nursing and Rehab.

She is survived by 2 sons, David Zeller of Burlington and James Zeller of Bolingbrook, IL., 2 daughters, Margaret Godden of San Diego, CA and Donna Fryrear of Tucson, AZ, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday May 9th in Lunning Chapel with burial in the Aspen Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service.

 

Teresa J. Neally, 56, of Fort Madison, died at 4:18 am Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.  Arrangements are pending at the Thielen Funeral Home & Crematory.

 

Gary E. Schroeder, 79, of Fort Madison, IA passed away at 11:25 PM Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at his home.

He was born April 16, 1936 in Galesburg, IL, the son of Gerald L and Hazel M Reed Schroeder. On December 17, 1954 he married Dixie L Chewning in Dallas City, IL.

Mr. Schroeder worked at Sheaffer Pen Co and later, the Dupont Co, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Prairie Hunters Club in West Point, IA. He enjoyed trap shooting, camping and attending yard sales with his wife. He loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren and teasing family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie, one daughter, Kim (Richard) Wyatt of Lomax, IL, 3 grandchildren Jason (Michelle Talley) Webster of Burlington, IA, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Webster of Lomax and Adonica (Michael) Gould of West Des Moines, IA, 9 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kelsey and Gage webster of Burlington, Brady and Braxton Webster of Lomax, Ann, Thomas and Helen Gould of West Des Moines and a special great-granddaughter, Brynna Talley of Burlington, 1 sister, Altaretta Rossell of Galesburg, 2 brothers, Larry Schroeder of Paxton, IL and Harland Schroeder of Indianapolis, IN, 2 sisters-in-law, Faye Schroeder of Burlington and Anna “Boots” Schroeder of Dallas City, 1 brother-in-law, Edward Scott of Burlington and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 1 son, David K. Schroeder, 2 sisters, Geraldine Butler and Dorothy Scott, 2 brothers, Jack and Gene Schroeder and his parents.

Steven Dale Hoskins, 64, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 4:32 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

He was born February 26, 1951 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Harvey and Barbara Brasche Hoskins. He was raised by Raymond and Elizabeth Smith.

Mr Hoskins worked in construction. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and mushrooming. He loved spending time and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his 5 children, Stephanie (Brent Miller) Hoskins of Hannibal, MO, Dennis (Lynne Webb) Johnson of Burlington, IA, Melissa (Ryan Alred) Taft English of LaHarpe, Matt Taft of LaHarpe, and Shane Taft of LaHarpe, 14 grandchildren, Brentley, Brice, Summer and Coden Miller, Payton Johnson, Abigail Swartzlander, Rachel Rice, Elizabeth Quijada, Lynden, Matthew and Navaeh English, Emalyn Alred, Jayden and Janessa Taft, 5 great-grandchildren, Macey Johnson, Issabella Ammirati, Keirson Swartzlander, McKenzie Mackey and Wyatt Mackey and Baby Quijada, due in November, 4 brothers, Chris (Billie) Smith of Stronghurst, IL, Joe (Janice) Smith of Dallas City, IL, Danny (Lee) Smith of Florida and Fred Richard “Rick” Tate and 3 sisters, Jackie (Larry) Ferguson of Blandinsville, IL, Ramona (David) DeSotel of Burlington IA and Rhonda Ewing of Dallas City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his adoptive parents and 1 brother, Raymond Smith.
