Iowa State head basketball coach Fred Hoiburg, who brought his team to the NCAA tournament four times in a row, is leaving Ames to take up a new role: the head coach of the Chicago Bulls. Hoiburg replaces Tom Thibodeau, who was fired last week after five seasons with the team. Chicago fell this year to Cleveland in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
