Blackhawks, Danville-New London Win

The Chicago Blackhawks rallied back to take game one of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Tampa Bay lightning, 2-1 last night thanks to two goals in under two minutes in the third period. They play again on Saturday.

In Prep Soccer, Danville-New London stamped their ticket to the state tournament with a win over Columbus, 5-0, in the class 1A substate finals last night. The bears are the 8th seed for the tournament, and face the number one seed, Dyersville Beckman, in the very first round of the tournament.

Prep Softball, Burlington and West Burlington-Notre Dame each took a game a peice in a double header last night. Greyhounds took the first game 6-2 while the Lady Falcons held on to win the nightcap, 6-5. In other softball action Wapello beat Danville 4-1. Fort Madison over Central Lee 3-1.

St Louis Cardinals beat Milwaukee 7-4, Cubs fell to Miami 7-3. Royals topped the Indians 4-2. White Sox beat the Rangers 9-2. Twins split a double header with the Red Sox, Losing 6-3 before winning 2-0.
