At least one person is dead following a Thursday morning accident in Mount Pleasant.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office says that at around 6:00 am, Emergency crews responded to the area of Goodyear road and 235th Street to a report of a two vehicle accident with injuries and one person trapped inside one of the vehicles.
At least one of the victims was pronounced dead on scene. The names of those involved have not been released. Another victim remains in the hospital in unknown condition.
We previously reported that another person died at the hospital following the accident. This was in error.
The crash investigation is being handled by the Iowa State Patrol.
