The man accused of shooting another man over a game of dice has pled not guilty in Des Moines County Court during an arraignment hearing on Monday.

43 year old Maurice Green’s trial has been scheduled for August 11th at 9:00am. It’s expected to go for five days.

Green has been jailed since mid-April on $2 million bond after authorities say he shot Matthew Banks to death at a home on Jefferson Street, following a disagreement over a dice game.

District Court Judge Michael Schilling also scheduled a hearing on June 22nd for two pro se motions filed by Green earlier this month. Green is requesting visitation rights for his two children as well as a change of venue in the case away from Des Moines County, saying that media attention on the case has irreparably biased the local jury pool.
