Blackhawks Win Stanley Cup, WB Beats Danville at Superconference

The Chicago Blackhawks are Stanley Cup champions for the third time in five years. They beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0 in the 6th game of the Stanley Cup finals to win the cup on their home ice–the first time they’ve been home for a championship win in 77 years.

Prep baseball action West Burlington beat Danville, 5-4 in the SEI Superconference.

In the Midwest League, Burlington Bees did not play last night’s scheduled game against the West Michigan Whitecaps, thanks to the rain.

St. Louis Cardinals took down Minnesota 3-2. Royals beat the Brewers, 8-5. Cubs were blanked by the Pirates, 11-0. The Chiago Cubs game against Cleveland was rained out.

And there could be another champion crowned tonight. The Cleveland Cavaliers will try to force game 7 against the Golden State Warriors in the NBA, who are looking for their first Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy since the 1970’s.
