Shotgun Fired During Fight Near Mount Pleasant

Four people are facing charges after a Saturday night fight in rural Mount Pleasant in which a shotgun was fired.

Deputies responded to a report of an assault on 265th street just south of Mount Pleasant, and pulled over the suspects in the 1800 grid of Oakland Mills Road.

The Henry County Sheriff’s office says a witness reported that 18 year old Nathan Cosgrove allegedly fired the shotgun in the direction of a victim, and a female victim was hit in the face with a baseball bat, allegedly by 16 year old Trequan Cosgrove.

Drug paraphernalia and evidence of the crime were discovered in the vehicle. 18 year old Becca Henderson of Salem, the driver of the vehicle, and 20 year old Christian Chapman also have pending charges in the case.

Nathan Cosgrove is currently being held in the Henry County Jail on $10,000 bond. Trequan Cosgrove was transported to juvenile detention.
