The Burlington Greyhounds Softball Team didn’t get to finish a game against Bettendorf last night, but it was looking good. The game was called off while the Greyhounds were up 5-3. It won’t be made up.
In baseball action the Mediapolis squad took down Notre Dame, 3-Mediapolis actually scored four more runs at the top of the sixth when the game was called for rain, only counting the last full inning played.
Burlington Bees fell to Peoria last night, 7-2.
Cardinals blanked the Cubs, 6-0. Twins overtook the Orioles 4-2. White Sox over Toronto 4-2.
Golf Star Rory McIlroy is hurt. The number 1 ranked player in the world ruptured a ligament in his ankle, not while playing Golf, but by playing soccer with his friends. It’s not known whether he’ll be able to defnd his title at the British Open next week.
