Lee County Narcotics Task Force Nabs Six in Separate Drug Arrests

The Lee County Narcotics Taskforce has had an extremely busy week, with not one, not two, but six drug arrests following the close of multiple investigations.

The first came on July 2nd, when Keokuk Police arrested 51 year old Duke Crowell, 47 year old Kathy Crowell, 25 year old Chad Stark, and 29 year old Lindsay Riddle of Keokuk. Stark and Kathy Crowell were charged with Maintaining a Drug House and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They face up to two years in prison. Duke Crowell is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Drug House, he faces 3 years in prison. Riddle faces three years in prison on Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Maintaining a Drug House charges.

The second, came on Independence day. 35 year old Michael Leeandrew Shipp of Keokuk was arrested for Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, a felony. Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, also a felony. Drug Tax Stamp Violation, also a felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, also a felony. The firearm that Shipp allegedly had on his possession means that the drug possession charges are all elevated, and he could face up to 40 years in prison.

41 year old Denise Michelle Howell was the third arrest. She turned herself in to the South Lee County Courthouse on charges including Reciept of a Meth Precursor, a felony. Maintaining a Drug House and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She faces up to seven years in prison.
